Instructor

Ryan Villalobos founded V.O.W. Jiu Jitsu in 2018. With nearly 20 years of experience and a black belt for the past decade, he is passionate about introducing new people to the art and helping them grow through their jiu jitsu journey.

What You’ll Learn

Week 1: Panda System and Inside Position

Learn defensive ground concepts using the Panda System, focusing on maintaining inside position for both defense and offense.

Week 2: Guard Retention and Sweeps

A focus on the fundamentals of guard retention and sweeps, learning how to control your opponent and set up attacks from the guard.

Week 3: Top Control

Develop strong top control in positions like Mount, Side Control, and Back Control, focusing on applying pressure and preventing escapes.

Week 4: Escapes from Dominant Positions

Learn effective escape techniques from Side Control, Mount, and Back Mount, regaining control and reversing positions.

Week 5: Basic Submissions

Gain proficiency in essential submissions from Side Control, Guard, and Back Mount, focusing on proper technique and control.

Week 6: Takedowns and Takedown Defense

Build a foundation in wrestling and judo for jiu jitsu, learning basic takedowns and how to defend against them.
